Our promise to readers
Every article is written to help you make a real decision in a real home. We aim to be practical, honest about costs, and clear about what works in rented and small spaces as well as owned homes.
How we research
- We compare product materials, dimensions, care instructions and return policies.
- We read a wide range of customer reviews in both the US and UK.
- We check measurements and safety guidance against manufacturer and official sources.
- We give measurements in centimetres and inches, and prices in dollars and pounds.
Honesty about testing
We only say we have tested or used a product when we actually have. Buying guides that are based on research rather than hands-on testing explain what we looked for instead.
Independence
Brands cannot pay to be included in our guides or to change what we say. Sponsored content and gifted products are always clearly labelled. Affiliate commissions never affect our recommendations. See our affiliate disclosure.
Keeping content up to date
We review popular guides regularly and update prices, links and recommendations. When we make a significant change, we show the updated date at the top of the article.
Corrections
If you spot a mistake, please contact us with the page link. We correct errors promptly.
Images
We use our own photos, reader submissions shared with permission, and properly licensed stock images such as Unsplash. We never use images we don't have the rights to.
